The prize emphasizes Chile’s qualities as the world’s greatest for adventure tourism, which are directly related to the exceptional natural beauty of Chile across its whole area.

“Being once again the world champions of adventure tourism fills us with pride, joy, enthusiasm and commitment to the reactivation of tourism in our country, an economic sector so important and necessary for thousands of small and medium-sized companies that give life to tourism in Chile and for hundreds of places that have made tourism their main activity” , said Jose Luis Uriarte, the Undersecretary of Tourism the honor.

As she accepted the honor, Sernatur’s national director, Andrea Wolleter, remarked, “This is fantastic news. Our nation is a top travel destination and the perfect location for adventure tourism. There are countless opportunities to take in the views of the mountain range, beaches, mountains, volcanoes, and other natural settings from north to south.

It is noteworthy to add that in October of last year, Chile was named the Best Adventure Travel Destination in South America by the World Travel Awards for the seventh time in a row. The Atacama Desert was named the Best Romantic Destination at that time as well.

The length of the nation is more than 39 degrees, or more than 72 degrees if the Chilean Antarctic Territory is taken into account.  The variety of Chile’s landscapes, temperatures, ecosystems, flora, and wildlife can be attributed to the country’s diverse terrain as well as the Pacific Ocean’s effect.

Patagonia is a popular destination because it has numerous stunning national parks and reserves, including Pumalin Douglas Tompkins Park, Kaweskar National Reserve, Torres del Paine Park, and Laguna San Rafael. Santiago, the capital, has a lot to offer in terms of cultural activities, and the Andes mountain range shields many amazing natural wonders nearby. San Pedro de Atacama, in the far north, is the beginning point for exploring abundant archeological sites, salt flats and desert landscapes, geyser fields, and volcanoes.

Tours to the Chiloe Archipelago and the Region de Los Lagos, which draw thousands of visitors year due to their stunning scenery, historic churches, rich folklore, customs, and cuisine, are also noteworthy. Unquestionably, Pucon is yet another well-liked southern Chilean destination for thousands of tourists, both domestic and foreign. Not to be overlooked is Easter Island, or Rapa Nui in the local tongue, one of the most significant tourist destinations in the nation due to its breathtaking scenery, enigmatic Moai, and rich Polynesian heritage.

Activities like canopying over vast stretches of unspoiled forests, sandboarding in the Atacama Desert dunes, participating in water sports in the vast Pacific Ocean, or sport fishing in the rivers and lakes of South and Chilean Patagonia are just a few examples of the varied activities offered by other travel programs across the nation.

To sum up, Chile is a veritable paradise for those who enjoy the outdoors. This South American nation provides an incredible array of natural environments, from the majesty of Patagonia with its glaciers and towering mountains to the Atacama Desert with its starry sky and lunar landscapes. Chile offers a plethora of experiences for those seeking the purest form of natural beauty, such as touring the Valparaíso region’s wines, marveling at the fjords and canals of Los Lagos, or exploring the lush woods of the Araucanía. Visits to Chile are pilgrimages to the wonders of the natural world.
